Introduction to Intercultural communication

This textbook covers the aspects of intercuitural communication o f language, the role of intercuitural communication among other areas of linguistics. Detailed information is provided on the principles o f intercuitural communication and modem paradigms, the interaction between language and culture, types of communication: verbal and nonverbal communication, the reflection of national-cultural features in intercuitural communication, the national-cultural nature o f conceptual metaphor and metonymy, stereotypes and prejudices in intercuitural communication, the assimilation of foreign culture and the emergence of intercuitural conflicts, national mentality and customs, and national-cultural features of speech etiquette. This manual is aimed to the master’s degree students o f foreign languages departments of Universities and, provides learning the intercuitural communication aspects of the language.
